A Day In The Life Of Our School

Good Morning!

Maths

To make sure that we have a range of different approaches to our learning, we make sure that our Maths curriculum contains weekly mental maths activities, problem solving investigations, written and practical learning opportunities. We particulary enjoy active activities and see the importance of learning Maths from a Biblical perspective.

At LICS, we begin each morning meeting together as a whole school for worship. This includes singing a psalm and prayer time. Our headteacher, Mr Musty, also shares any news or events that needs to be discussed for that day. After our morning meeting, we spend time in our own classes reading and learning about our Bible topic.

Spelling, reading, writing, listening and talking are a part of our weekly Language programme. We often like to link our topical work with Language work, especially during our writing and reading slots. By using these cross curricular links, we are broadening our learning of curricular areas and more importantly, gaining knowledge of God and the world around us.

Afternoon Activities

In order to have a wide breadth of learning opportunities in the week, our afternoons consist of subject areas such as Gaelic and French, History or Science, Music, Art, P.E and Character Foundations. We enjoy outdoor learning experiences, researching information for our history projects and learning how to conduct experiments as part of our Science topics.
